Clickability Inc. has released CMPublish, an Internet content management system that lets viewers print, save or e-mail online stories.
When articles are printed, saved or e-mailed, the system tracks the activity and makes it available in real-time reports. The data can be used to trigger the system to put the most popular stories in a top headlines section.
CMPublish is aimed at news sites, software firms, pharmaceutical companies and retailers looking to make their Web content attractive to viewers and therefore a better marketing venue for advertisers.
“We want to merge marketing with the content side and allow publishers to see what is driving real interest,” said John Girard, CEO at Clickability, San Francisco.
CMPublish can be acquired as a hosted version, costing $1,000 to $20,000. The system also can be installed in a company's server by Clickability staff for a minimum of $100,000. Add Web design consultancy and the training services often required for a firm's editorial staff, and total installation cost could reach $250,000.
“It's template-driven,” Girard said, “which allows your editorial staff, once they are trained, to handle day-to-day management without the aid of information technology assistants.”
Implementation takes 60 to 90 days.
