Online Gamblers Deal Their Dough at Casinos

Internet research firm Greenfield’s Online Inc., Wilton, CT, Monday released a study that said most online wagerers spent little or no money, and only 2 percent thought Internet betting was fun, even though gambling Web sites are visited three times more often than actual casinos.

The study showed 81 percent of Web gamblers will only play for free; and of those who are willing to play with cash, 61 percent bet $10 or less. The company said Internet wagering isn’t duplicating the increasing success of casino gambling because online bettors found the activity to be lonely and unexciting.
