It’s no surprise that search efforts are increasing in a down economy, but David Karnstedt, who last week was named president and CEO of search agency Efficient Frontier, says today he’s seeing an increased emphasis in natural search optimization.
“Marketers are getting sophisticated enough that they’re starting to understand where they’re hitting their limits in terms of ROI in paid search,” he said. “We’re seeing more and more customers coming to us and evaluating how to improve SEO activities.”
Previously, Karnstedt was executive-in-residence of Redpoint Ventures, and prior to that, he was SVP of North American sales at Yahoo.
He also sees mobile still in the experimental stage but thinks it’s growing as a sector and will continue to grow as the influence of smart phones increases.
Listen to more from DMNews‘ podcast interview with Karnstedt, in which he speaks about incorporating social media into search as well as his plans for Efficient Frontier.
