OneSource Debuts Business Browser Upgrades, Modules

OneSource Information Services Inc. announced today a new version of its U.S. Business Browser, a Web-based subscription service offering information on businesses to sales representatives, and two new modules for the tool.

OneSource, Concord, MA, a business information solutions provider, is a Donnelley Group company of infoUSA.

The enhanced version of Business Browser includes detailed profiles of 160,000 private companies and expands the product's coverage from 300,000 to 600,000 U.S. and Canadian companies. The additional Business Browser information will launch officially in July.

OneSource also created two new add-on modules to Business Browser. The first is Small Company Spectrum, which provides basic company information on 13 million firms beyond the 600,000 in the main product. The other module is Credit Insights, a risk assessment tool on the 13 million companies in the Small Company Spectrum module.

The data used for the modules come from infoUSA's business database. Both modules become available in August.

The Business Browser upgrade does not add to users' subscription price, but the new modules are being offered at $5,000 each per year for five users, or $84 per month per user. A Business Browser annual subscription starts around $20,000 for the first user.

OneSource president Yvonne Cekel said OneSource's relationship with parent firm infoUSA made the Business Browser modules and enhancements possible.

“We have no constraints with the 13 million business database, and that has facilitated our growth,” Cekel said.

InfoUSA, Omaha, NE, acquired OneSource in June 2004 for $101 million, or $8.85 per share in cash. It was integrated into the firm's Donnelley Group, which includes Donnelley Marketing, Walter Karl, Edith Roman, Yesmail and Triplex.

In October, OneSource added two modules to Business Browser: Executive Insights, to give deeper information on key contacts at companies, including biographical information on executives' careers such as where they have worked, what boards they serve on and where they went to school; and Company Insights, focusing on data compiled from financial statements and analysis reports as well as the Web.

OneSource launched OneSource Express, a business data tool serving the information needs of small to midsize companies, in January 2005.
