OneClip.com Debuts Instant Couponing Service

Start-up OneClip.com joined the Internet fray this week, claiming to be the first company whose technology allows online retailers to offer manufacturers’ instant coupons, rebates, promotions and other incentives without forcing the consumer out of the retailer’s Web site or following hyperlinks and banner ads.

Internet stores NetGrocer.com and LatinGrocer.com and Latin food manufacturer Goya Foods have signed up as charter clients for OneClip’s business-to-business service that links manufacturers and retailers for online consumer promotions nationwide. OneClip aims to convert online browsers into buyers by stimulating impulse purchases.

“The benefit to online retailers is that it drives instant purchases,” said Christine Milligan, spokeswoman for OneClip, New York. “Consumers can use the coupons right on the site rather than go to a traditional e-couponing site. For manufacturers, OneClip takes care of the back-end in terms of coupon redemption. They don’t have to worry about fraud and can see results of their promotions in real time.”

Retailers will not be charged for installing this patent-pending technology on their sites because all transactions and clearing costs are handled by OneClip. The retailer is reimbursed for coupon redemptions by OneClip at the point of transaction, while the manufacturer is charged a performance-based fee for actual purchases.
