Omnicom sees Q2 net income increase 13.4 percent over 2006 to $2.7 billion

Omnicom Group Inc. saw a net income increase of 13.4 percent for the second quarter of 2007 to $276.7 million from $244.1 million in the second quarter of 2006.

Omnicom, the holding company that owns Tribal DDB, Agency.com and Rapp Collins among others, attributed its rise in part to healthy growth in its CRM offerings. The firm saw diluted earnings per share in the second quarter of 2007 increase 18.3 percent to $0.84 per share from $0.71 per share in the second quarter of 2006.

Worldwide revenue increased 10.7 percent to $3.1 billion from $2.8 billion in the second quarter of 2006. Domestic revenue for the second quarter of 2007 increased 8.1 percent to $1.7 billion compared to $1.5 billion in the second quarter of 2006. International revenue increased 13.9 percent to $1.5 billion compared to $1.3 billion in the second quarter of 2006.

Net income for the six months ended June 30, 2007 increased 12.2 percent to $459.7 million from $409.7 million in the same period in 2006. Diluted earnings per share for the six months ended June 30, 2007 increased 17.9 percent to $1.38 per share in 2007 from $1.17 per share in the same period in 2006.

Worldwide revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2007 increased 10.8 percent to $6 billion from $5.4 billion in the same period in 2006. Domestic revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2007 increased 7.9 percent to $3.2 billion from $3 billion in the same period in 2006. International revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2007 increased 14.3 percent to $2.8 billion from $2.4 billion in the same period in 2006.
