Omnicom Group Inc., New York, has invested in five healthcare-related online companies in a gesture calculated to help its pharmaceutical clients better target consumers and doctors on the Internet.
Communicade Inc., Omnicom's Internet investment subsidiary, took a 15 percent to 30 percent stake in Healthology Inc., eMedicine.com Inc., eResearch Technology Inc., WorldMedicalLeaders.com Inc. and Caresoft Inc. The total investment was not disclosed.
Omnicom owns agencies such as BBDO Worldwide, DDB Worldwide, TBWA Worldwide, and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.
