Arlene Rubin, former president of list brokerage and management firm Rubin Response Services Inc., passed away June 2. She was 68.
Judy Rubin Zivic continues to lead the Schaumburg, IL, company as president.
“Judy has been president since January 2006, and everything has been in place to continue serving the direct marketing community,” said Ken Kretschmar, senior vice president at Rubin Response. “All of the employees will miss her terribly. This is a very close-knit company, and she will be missed and remembered.”
Ms. Rubin’s husband and company co-founder Bill Rubin died Sept. 18, 2002. She was chief financial officer at the time and took over as president.
Their daughters, Ms. Zivic, Lori Rubin Dekalo and Linda Rubin, are involved in the business. Ms. Rubin also has two grandchildren, David and Shelley Dekalo.
Ms. Rubin and her husband started Rubin Response in 1974 in their kitchen. They used their dining room table as the conference room. She kept that table in her office always to remember the company’s origins. The company today employs 60 people.
A family member said Ms. Rubin died of cancer.
The service was held yesterday.
