A New York state court barred a man from telemarketing in the state as a result of his role in an investment scam, New York attorney general Eliot Spitzer said yesterday.
Jeffrey Lusthaus and a partner, Anthony Milano, solicited clients for foreign currency under the business name Sure Ventures FX Group, Spitzer said. They took $61,000 from 11 people but made no investments, according to Spitzer.
Lusthaus returned the $61,000 and paid an additional $2,000 in costs to the state. Also, the court barred him from selling any kind of investment in New York.
The attorney general's investigation of Milano is continuing, Spitzer said.
