Nokia and IBM will provide end-to-end secured business applications on advanced mobile handsets targeted at the enterprise market, the companies said yesterday.
IBM Global Services will act as a systems integrator of Nokia's Mobile VPN solution for its mobile handsets using the Symbian operating system. The companies said the collaboration will speed business use of advanced mobile handsets, helping increase productivity in mobile work environments.
Applications include personal productivity, calendar, messaging, groupware solutions and intranet access, customer service, field service, work-force management, insurance claims processing, sales force automation, order management, configuration tools, operational productivity, maintenance services, parts ordering, field reporting, material management and shipment tracking.
