MySpace has claimed $230 million in damages — the largest anti-spam judgment ever — from Sanford Wallace and Walter Rines for allegedly stealing passwords through “phishing” scams on the social networking site.

The US District Court in Los Angeles ruled in MySpace’s favor after Wallace and Rines failed to show up for a court hearing. Wallace was head of Cyber Promotions, which was sued for sending 30 million junk e-mails a day in the 1990s.
