The National Hockey League has selected business-to-business e-commerce systems provider iCongo to exclusively create, implement, manage and host the NHL Online Exchange, an NHL-branded business-to-business portal and trading exchange.
The NHL said this exchange will be the first for a professional sports league. It will provide participating NHL retailers and licensees with an e-commerce platform to buy and sell NHL licensed merchandise over the Internet and receive targeted NHL content, news and promotions.
The NHL also will be able to communicate regularly with its retail buyers and licensees through the exchange's marketing and content management tools, including e-mail campaigns, online newsletters and the extranet.
