New Web-based software from smartFocus

Multichannel marketing company smartFocus today released smartReporter 2.4, the newest version of its data summary software.

The software is a Microsoft Excel add-in module that allows marketers to access and analyze data using Microsoft Excel on their personal computers.

“What we wanted to do, particularly for our partner community in the US, was to sell through marketing service providers,” said Curt Bloom, international managing director at smartFocus. “We wanted to give them an easy facilitator to provide information to their customers, so now marketers locally can take advantage of their investments in marketing database and perform queries. It’s one area that’s leveraging the Web.”

Full capabilities include data summaries, analyses and report creating on data held in a smartFocus data analysis server. SmartFocus partners can let clients access data while the partner continued to create analyses and models with that data.

Bloom highlighted the Web capability of the software.

“Instead of having to use another service to communicate, users can go straight to the Internet,” he said. “We’re really looking to give this tool to our partners to add value to their [database management] solution.”

The software, which will be available in the first quarter 2008, is translatable and can be operated in multiple countries and languages.

SmartFocus, headquartered in the UK, has more than 300 worldwide customers, including AAA, EMI, Harrods and Hilton International. The company recently reported growth of 32% for the first half of 2007 over the prior year.
