Nevada Opts for National DNC List

Nevada's attorney general's office will use the national no-call list for enforcement of the state's no-call law rather than create a separate list, the office announced yesterday.

Using entries from Nevada residents who sign up for the national list will save the state time and money, Nevada attorney general Brian Sandoval said in a statement. It also simplifies the registration and complaint process, which can be done at the national no-call Web site at donotcall.gov.

About 450,000 Nevada phone numbers are on the national list, according to the state attorney general. Nevada's no-call law takes effect May 1.

The Federal Trade Commission, which maintains the national no-call list, has encouraged states to merge their individual lists with the national one but has not required them to do so.
