Navy Will Use Siebel Software in Recruiting

The U.S. Navy Recruiting Command will begin using a new software tool for targeted promotions to specific demographic groups, according to Siebel Systems.

To facilitate these promotions, the Navy will expand its Siebel eGovernment implementation with Siebel Marketing, a solution for the planning, management, execution and analysis of personalized, permission-based marketing campaigns across all channels.

Currently, the Navy has more than 375,000 personnel on active duty, another 170,000 on reserve and more than 182,000 civilians supporting naval operations.

Previously, the Navy bought Siebel Sales, part of the Siebel eGovernment applications suite, for use as a contact management tool for 9,000 U.S. Navy recruiters, managers and commanders. This in-house system is now called the Navy Recruiting and Accession Management System.

Siebel said that NRAMS now will combine existing Siebel Sales functionality with Siebel Marketing and Siebel Analytics and will establish a centralized database management system for military recruiting activities to enhance its ability to meet current and projected staffing needs.
