NASCAR Names Boone/Oakley

The National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing tapped Boone/Oakley, Charlotte, NC, as agency of record for its Busch and Craftsman Truck Series races.

Finalists for the $5 million to $7 million account included Coyne Beahm, Greensboro, NC, and Elbertson Senger Shuler, Charlotte. The incumbent was Young & Rubicam, Chicago, which in July lost the NASCAR Winston Cup Series to The Martin Agency, Richmond, VA.

Boone/Oakley is charged with promoting television viewership and racetrack attendance for the both series that take place at various locations nationwide. Advertisements will run on TV, the Internet and www.nascar.com and print media.

NASCAR’s Busch Series is the nation’s second most watched motor sport. The series events next year are paired 25 times with NASCAR Nextel Cup events.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, now in its ninth year, too is gaining viewership. All 25 truck races will have been broadcast live this year on the Speed Channel.

Other clients of Boone/Oakley include MTV2, Paramount Parks, Sci Fi Channel, Brixx Wood Fired Pizza and Continental Tire.
