MyDailyHealth Chooses West & Vaughan as First Agency

MyDailyHealth.com has named West & Vaughan, Raleigh-Durham, NC, its first agency of record after six weeks of reviewing pitches from other undisclosed agencies.

Valued at $1 million, the account includes direct mail, online and trade print advertising, e-mail marketing and Web site design for MyDailyHealth, a start-up that is a Web-enabled corporate health incentive plan.

“West & Vaughan's track record with start-ups was what tipped the scales,” said Jess Eberdt, president of MyDailyHealth, in a statement.

A full-service ad agency with billings of $40 million, West & Vaughan's client roster includes the Brick Association, Central Carolina Bank and CarQuest.

MyDailyHealth, Chapel Hill, NC, doesn't offer merchandise or ad space. Instead it benefits from subscriptions to large corporate employers. Early clients include Compaq Computer Corp. and Cigna.

Employees of these corporations earn points through visits to the MyDailyHealth site and by reaching individually customized health goals. The points accumulated can be swapped for items such as a lumbar back support, spa vacation or mountain bike.

“Employees become healthier and, one hopes, happier and more motivated,” said a company statement. “Employers achieve demonstrably lower group health insurance rates and, potentially, lower absenteeism and higher productivity.”
