MWW Opens Israel Practice

The MWW Group, part of PR firm Golin/Harris International, has launched an Israel practice, focusing on offering media relations and corporate positioning for Internet-based and wireless businesses.

Charter clients of the new Israel group are Net2Wireless, which offers wireless Internet services such as streaming video and audio and instant messaging; Intercomp, a tool developed for analyzing online-enabled applications; and Oblicore, which ensures operational efficiencies for service providers.

In all, the new business is worth more than $500,000.

“We see Israel as a burgeoning technology market which is ripe for a company like ours to make headway,” said Ronn Torossian, MWW vice president and group director, who heads the new practice from New York.

Torossian, who manages MWW's business-to-business practice in New York, was named to the new responsibility after serving as press liaison for the World Likud Party in Jerusalem.

Among the services MWW will offer to the Israeli market are public relations counsel, media relations, pre-IPO investor relations and other marketing communications needs.

Equally important, the MWW expansion also eyes U.S. businesses with interests in Israel and vice versa.

“The companies that we're doing business with in Israel will get tremendous exposure and will see increased attention to their products,” Torossian said. “Following the United States and Canada, Israel has the most publicly traded companies on the Nasdaq and the market is very ripe for expansion.”

MWW's portfolio of U.S. clients includes Kmart Corp., McDonald's franchisees in the New York tri-state area, Hard Rock Café International, Bally Total Fitness and Park Place Entertainment.
