Musician Site Banks on Subscription Revenue

BookLiveMusic.com has debuted its flagship Web site of the same name that offers subscriptions to music entertainers who want to be listed online.

The site offers the musicians a Web page with a photo and contact information such as e-mail address and phone number. Subscriptions cost $99 a year for members of the American Federation of Musicians. The cost is $150 a year for nonmembers.

BookLiveMusic, Chicago, has a co-marketing agreement with the AFM. The union has sent e-mails to its members, and BookLiveMusic mentions the AFM on its home page.

The site so far has signed 1,000 entertainers largely because of this deal and wants to get 2,000 more subscriptions before year's end.

BookLiveMusic is free for people interested in booking the entertainers. Interested event organizers are targeted for the service, and they can do searches by geography, style of music and price range.
