Multichannel retailer dELiA*s Corp., which targets young women and teen-age girls, said yesterday that core multichannel sales increased 8 percent from $23.8 million last year to $25.7 million for the second quarter that ended Aug. 4.
Multichannel sales include the company’s catalog, retail stores and dELiAs.com.
However, on a consolidated basis, as a result of divestitures, net sales during the quarter fell 30.4 percent to $26 million from $37.3 million during the year-ago quarter. On a consolidated basis, the company’s loss before interest, taxes, restructuring and minority interest dropped to $6.4 million from $19 million last year.
On a pro forma basis, excluding restructuring and one-time financing charges, the consolidated net loss amounted to $6.4 million. Consolidated net loss during the second quarter including the charges totaled $11 million.
