MP3.com Settles Two Suits

MP3.com last week settled its copyright infringement lawsuit with Time Warner and BMG Entertainment group.

The settlement allows the online music provider to include both labels’ songs in its Internet based database.

Financial terms of the settlement were not disclosed but reports said MP3.com would pay the labels $75 million to $100 million in exchange for the rights to use the songs on its My.MP3.com service.

MP3.com is still battling other labels who have filed suit, including Sony Music Entertainment, Seagram Co’s Universal Music Group and EMI Group.
