Moulton to Fulfill Japanese DRTV Product in U.S.

Moulton Logistics, Van Nuys, CA, will provide fulfillment on an infomercial campaign for Shizen Green, a powdered barley drink being marketed on Japanese-language channels in Los Angeles, Hawaii and New York as well as in six other U.S. cities.

The product, known overseas as Ryokko Aojiru, is popular in Japan and is being marketed in the United States by Route American Sports, whose Japanese parent company is Ryokuken Asahi, according to Moulton Logistics. The fulfillment firm did not disclose the financial value of its contract with Route American.

Using its facilities near the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, CA, Moulton will ship Shizen Green to consumers in the continental United States and Hawaii.

Route American used the original Japanese infomercial with English subtitles to promote Shizen Green in its initial U.S. markets in Los Angeles, Hawaii and New York. In late July, the company rolled out a new infomercial for testing in Albany, NY; Oklahoma City; Yakima, WA; San Diego; Seattle; and Lubbock, TX.

The new 30-minute infomercial features Japanese-American actor Pat Morita as spokesman. The show is documentary-like and features soft-sell tactics common to Japanese long-form DRTV, according to Route American.

Shizen Green is available in packages of 60 packets, a one-month supply, for $79.
