MNH and Team South to Merge Under New Name

Advertising and direct marketing services company, Merkeley Newman Harty, New York, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Omnicom Group, Inc., said yesterday it was merging with Team South, New York, a marketing agency launched in 1995.

MNH and Team South plan to aggressively market what company representatives say will be a “blending of disciplines” approach to all of their existing clients’ business as well as new account prospects.

“Technology and the Internet have made mere collaboration between general and direct marketing agencies a thing of the past,” said Francine Edleman, president of Team South. “The time has come to provide genuine integration in pursuit of the big ideas. Clients are looking for this. And with the advent of technology and the Web, there has been more focus on segmentation and more demand for it.”

Edelman wouldn’t disclose the names being considered for the newly combined agency, but she said it would be “something fun and very contemporary.”

Founded in 1993, Merkely Newman Harty has an estimated 280 million in billings with 210 employees. Clients include the American Museum of Natural History, Bell South, BMW Motorcycles, Forbes and Mercedes Benz, USA.
