Microsoft launches Bing Deals desktop site

Microsoft Corp. launched a desktop site for its daily deals aggregation service Bing Deals on Sept. 23.

The Bing Deals site features more than 200,000 daily deals from sites such as Groupon, LivingSocial, Tippr, Zozi and Gilt City, as well as more than 2,000 merchants such as Nordstrom, Target Brands and Zappos.com, said a Microsoft spokesperson via email.

The spokesperson said deals are displayed “based on top daily deals, where a person is located or what they’ve search for.”

Microsoft created the site to counter consumer fatigue from a growing daily deals market, said the spokesperson.

Microsoft said in March that it had partnered with deals aggregator The Dealmap to display deals alongside Bing search results as well as on a dedicated mobile site.  Google said in August that it had acquired The Dealmap.
