Microsoft at the end of last month announced deals with three interactive television companies — ACTV Inc., eCity and RespondTV — to develop t-commerce and advertising applications for the Microsoft TV platform.
Through these partnerships, Microsoft is looking to offer I-TV advertising ranging from targeted commercials to banner ads.
ACTV produces software that enables the delivery of I-TV advertising, featuring full-motion video. ECity manufactures software that allows cable subscribers to opt in and view advertisements relevant to their interests. RespondTV is an I-TV content provider.
