Meredith Selects ALC to Manage Files

Meredith Corp., New York, will entrust its portfolio of list properties with more than 60 million names to American List Counsel for management as of April 2.

Cheryl Dahlquist, director of database marketing services at Meredith, said the company selected ALC because of its strength as an industry leader and its extensive network of contacts.

The Meredith publishing files include the subscriber lists for Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies' Home Journal, Traditional Home, Country Home, Golf for Women and Midwest Living. They also include the Meredith consumer database of 25 million unduplicated records.

Meredith has been managing the files inhouse.

As part of the transition, ALC, Princeton, NJ, will aggregate the list data to create new lists and products. New segments and modeling opportunities also will be made available, according to ALC.
