Melissa Data tool qualifies mailings for maximum postal discounts

Data quality software and services provider Melissa Data Corp. will introduce Presort Object today, an API-based data quality tool aimed at direct mail houses, banking and financial institutions, or any company that could benefit from reduced rates on their 2007 mailings.

Designed to allow companies to automate mailings for maximum postal discounts, Presort Object takes a company’s mailing data and assigns it the correct sortation order for the lowest First-Class mail rates possible. For example, a 10,000 piece mailing sorted by Presort Object would be eligible for $1,000 less in postage than the regular rate, according to Rancho Santa Margarita, CA-based Melissa Data.

The software facilitates the development of a new breed of applications that ensures the quality of contact data and prepares that data for actual bulk delivery to the U. S. Postal Service.

Presort Object can sort any list that has been processed with a current CASS-certified engine for ZIP + 4 codes, such as Melissa Data’s Address Object. As long as the mailing list has been CASS certified, standardized and encoded, Presort Object will complete the process by sorting the mail pieces for the lowest automation rates possible.

Presort Object completes the Data Quality Tools suite from Melissa Data.
