Melissa Data Introduces Contact Zone

Data quality services provider Melissa Data released Contact Zone yesterday. The data hygiene program is for Microsoft Outlook users.

According to Melissa Data, Contact Zone is a Web service that verifies street addresses, corrects misspellings, updates area codes, fixes bad ZIP codes and fills in missing data all in real time.

Melissa Data, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, said the benefits of up-to-date records can be measured in increased productivity and better targeted marketing. By using Contact Zone, businesses and individuals can improve the deliverability of mail and shipments to customers, reduce the quantity of misdialed phone numbers and save on keystrokes when inputting address information.

Melissa Data said Contact Zone also standardizes address data to U.S. Postal Service specifications, appends the ZIP+4 code, corrects misspelled city and street names; fills in city and states just by entering the ZIP code and updates phone numbers.

Contact Zone is powered by Melissa Data's MAILERS+4 CASS-certified address verification engine. Contact Zone matches address data against the USPS database of 130 million deliverable addresses.

Contact Zone is available for download at www.MelissaData.com/cz. Melissa Data lets companies clean 250 records for free in a promotion it calls a “permanent demo.” If the user is pleased with the results, he can convert to an “unlimited” cleansing subscription costing $49 for a year.
