Medical Services International Gains Call Center Interest

Medical Services International, Edmonton, Alberta, has taken a 25 percent interest in a call center scheduled to open in October at an as-yet-undisclosed location in the Caribbean, the company said this month.

The company already owns 40 percent of Teltek International, a teleservices agency that runs Caribbean call centers. With this latest announcement, Medical Services will make a direct investment in a call center and be able to use the facility to market its own products. The company produces medical testing kits.

Medical Services estimated that the new center would generate $1.45 million in revenue and $410,000 in profit in its first year of operation. It will launch with at least 70 seats, the company said.
