Mead is DraftDCB Canada chief as Coish departs Draft Toronto

DraftFCB tapped Paul Mead as president of DraftFCB Canada, moving him from the same position he held at Foote, Cone & Belding Canada.

Mr. Mead’s task is to combine Draft and FCB in Canada, as the operations are merging in the United States and around the world. Draft Toronto president Peter Coish decided to leave the agency immediately with this move.

Mr. Mead’s team at DraftFCB Canada includes John Boniface as chief operating officer and Robin Heisey as chief creative officer. They served as president and executive creative director of FCB Toronto, respectively.

David Florence continues in his post as DraftFCB’s regional president with oversight of the Canadian operations.

Draft’s strengths are in direct marketing and sales promotions, while FCB specializes in brand-based advertising. The new team’s job is to remove the lines between advertising and marketing services, offering a comprehensive suite of services to clients.

Meanwhile, Christopher Gyorgy has joined DraftFCB Chicago as senior vice president and executive creative director of art. This is a new post.

Mr. Gyorgy (pronounced georgie) was most recently at Saatchi, Los Angeles. He also served stints at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco; The Martin Agency; DDB Needham; and The Richards Group.

He has worked on clients like Adobe, Sony, Pepsi, SBC, Boy Scouts of America, Isuzu and IMAX Theatres.

Mr. Gyorgy reports to Tom O’Keefe, chief creative officer of DraftFCB Chicago.
