Marketing automation company Marketo on Oct. 11 launched Spark, a marketing automation system tailored for small businesses.
Marketo says Spark was developed to enable small businesses to create marketing campaigns using inbound marketing, search, email, events and social media. Among its features is scoring leads for sales department and measuring the impact of campaigns in real time, including email volumes and leads generated.
“The earlier generation of direct marketing was data-centric, Phil Fernandez, president and CEO of Marketo, told Direct Marketing News. “All buying is the same, and every environment needs to learn to master the Web, social media marketing and direct mail.”
Fernandez added: “To be heard, a small business needs to know how to execute as if it were General Motors.”
