MapInfo, Plurimus Team on Demographic Integration

MapInfo Corp. and Plurimus Corp. yesterday announced a partnership to deliver a customer relationship management solution that allows organizations to profile the online behavior of Internet users in any demographic region.

The software, called Plurimus Internet Summary Data, debuted yesterday at PC Forum 2001 in Scottsdale, AZ. It has been designed for use with TargetPro, MapInfo's market analysis tool.

Plurimus, Durham, NC, ties online behavior to a user's geographic location and integrates the behavior with MapInfo's demographic and segmentation data.

The information on more than 3.5 million Internet users will be plugged into TargetPro for analysis. MapInfo customers who traditionally have relied on TargetPro for demographic analysis of their brick-and-mortar customers can use the new solution to analyze their e-commerce initiatives and create e-marketing programs. Users also can integrate their real-world locations and their customers' online behavior.

As a result of the agreement, MapInfo, Troy, NY, also has made an equity investment in Plurimus. The companies said future partnerships will include more data integration products for e-business clients.

Plurimus Internet Summary Data is available immediately. A single desktop-user version starts at $10,000 for nationwide coverage.
