Mailers Companion is Ten Years Old

The “10th Anniversary” issue of the Mailers Companion will hit mailboxes next week, according to the U.S. Postal Service.

The Mailers Companion is a bimonthly publication that includes information on Domestic Mail Manual and International Mail Manual revisions, mail processing networks, address management, technology, mailing standards, rulings, and other relevant issues, including “Ask Dr. Barcode,” a column for readers’ questions and comments.

The Mailers Companion has a circulation of approximately 150,000. Its mailing list has been developed from mailer requests, and goes to mailers of all sizes.

The Mailers Companion was first published in January 1996 as “The Mailroom Companion,” and its purpose was to help convey the elements of Classification Reform.

Besides the name change, The Mailers Companion has undergone other changes over the past ten years, especially in the frequency of its publication and format.

For example, the Mailers Companion is available online at usps.com/mailerscompanion, and readers have the choice of viewing either the PDF or HTML version.

To receive Mailers Companion, send an e-mail request to [email protected], and include your name, title, company name, and complete delivery address.
