Lufthansa said yesterday that it was appointing Travelocity.com as its first global online travel partner.
The deal establishes an integrated marketing program for Lufthansa and Travelocity involving all of Travelocity's North American and European Web sites.
As a result of the agreement, Travelocity's German, Canadian, U.S. and U.K. sites will now feature special fares for Lufthansa flights. The agreement also includes joint promotions, marketing, advertising and e-mail campaigns.
“Travelocity has the brand technology and customer relationship management tools in place that will not only meet, but exceed our clients' expectations,” said Thomas Winkelmann, Lufthansa's vice president, the Americas.
