L-Soft Acquires Swedish E-Mail Marketer

E-mail communications management firm L-Soft has acquired Swedish e-mail marketing company Maila Nordic AB, L-Soft said yesterday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Under terms of the acquisition, L-Soft gets Maila Nordic's e-mail tracking technology, its Maila Tracker software and a development center in Erlangen, Germany. L-Soft said it plans to enhance the Maila Tracker software and integrate it with its Listserv e-mail list management software.

“The system can track the number of opened e-mail messages, along with click-through rates and resulting actions, such as purchases or registrations to online services,” said Eric Thomas, L-Soft's founder/CEO.

The company, which is based in Landover, MD, noted that the first software release is scheduled for the end of the year. Tracking services will be available to ListPlex hosting service customers this fall, L-Soft noted.

L-Soft said Listserv manages the delivery of 30 million e-mail messages daily to more than 165,000 e-mail lists.
