Bart Loring, former president of Microreach Data Systems and Prospect List Resource, Englewood, NJ, last week launched Loring Direct, New City, NY, a direct marketing agency that he said will bring back some of the personal touch lost in the industry with recent takeovers.
“You can go for days without speaking to anybody except through phone mail” Loring said.
Along with this needed intimacy he said, a common sense attitude was in order about privacy issues. “If we simply respect the consumer's issues [as an industry] we will not be regulated out of business,” he said.
Loring said he will continue doing what he does best, consulting on direct response and list management accounts in addition to managing lists such as the Swanson health products mail-order catalog. He also plans to bring out a major new databases in the near future.
