Local search company V-Enable taps InfoUSA database

V-Enable, a local search company, has extended its partnership with InfoGroup in a push for growth.

The company will now be appending InfoUSA’s database — which includes more than 14 million US businesses and 137 million consumers — to its products in an effort to improve the accuracy and depth of its local search offerings.

“We want to make sure our user has the most accurate information possible, so we need to start with a good database,” said Craig Hagopian, president of V-Enable. “We are working with them on getting more enhanced information so that things like the picture of the storefront and hours of operation are included in our data set.”

V-Enable first started working with InfoUSA to obtain standardized data for its voice-activated searches, but now V-Enable is focusing more on mobile and online local search.

“We’re extending the relationship because V-Enable is moving somewhat away from voice because it’s only one component of search,” explained Pankaj Mathur, VP of sales for InfoUSA. “We feed the data into those search engines and make sure it’s updated on a periodic basis so that consumers have an optimum customer experience when they do searches around the neighborhood.”

Mathur added that InfoUSA programs like Express Update were integral to driving that customer experience. Express Update allows large national chains to update their business information with InfoUSA for quick distribution to clients like V-Enable.
