List Broker Thulin Charged With Attempted Murder

Authorities in Los Angeles charged James Thulin, president of list management and brokerage firm TCI Direct, Toluca Lake, CA, with attempted murder and other violent criminal offenses, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney's office. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 10.

Thulin is accused of attacking a man in a car who pulled into the driveway of his home July 17, a spokeswoman with the district attorney's office said. The man escaped, and Thulin then broke into a neighbor's house where a party was going on, the spokeswoman said.

Thulin attacked three people in the house, the spokeswoman alleged. He was arrested and taken to a hospital, where he is accused of kicking a nurse, she said. Thulin is free on bail, the spokeswoman said.

A search of Los Angeles Superior Court records revealed that Thulin faces the following charges: two counts of attempted murder; three counts of assault with a deadly weapon; aggravated mayhem; burglary; making a terroristic threat; and battery on a doctor or nurse with injury. The charges were filed July 29.

Court records also show that Thulin was charged again Aug. 24 with resisting arrest and vandalism. The district attorney's spokeswoman said she had no information about those charges.

An attorney for Thulin did not return phone calls last week.
