List Briefs: Walter Karl Wins Ziff Davis Files

Walter Karl Inc., Pearl River, NY, a division of Donnelley Marketing and infoUSA, was appointed exclusive list manager of the Ziff Davis Media postal and e-mail subscriber files for consumers and enterprise IT business people, effective April 1.

The files are estimated to contain 5.5 million consumer names and 1.6 million business names. Titles include eWEEK, Computer Gaming World, Electronic Gaming Monthly, CIO Insight, Baseline, XBOX Nation, Sync Magazine, Interactive Week, E-Seminar, Smart Partner, Official Playstation Magazine and PC Magazine.

There will be vertical databases on the business and consumer files as well as a business and consumer master file.

Millard Launches InStyle Homeowners List

Millard Group Inc., Peterborough, NH, was appointed list manager for the new-to-market InStyle Homeowners file of 346,300 active subscribers who own homes.

To create the file, the InStyle magazine list was enhanced with Equifax and Time Inc. affinities to identify lifestyle and demographic data.

The median household income on the file is $87,000, the median age is 35 and the unit of sale is $28 annually. The file is selectable by recency, geography, age, income, gender, source and lifestyle categories. Base price is $110/M.

MKTG Offers Product Buyer Database

MKTG Services, Newtown, PA, an affiliate of CBC Companies Inc., announced the availability of the Real America Database Product Buyers file of 8.6 million consumers.

The database consists of 100 percent direct response buyers and is compiled from product purchase data and self-reported information. It offers recency, gender, telephone number, age, occupation, marital status, presence of children, homeowner and credit card selects as well as product-type segments. Base price is $70/M.

HFM Raises Update Frequency

Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. List Management, New York, increased its update frequency for its HFM Enriched Database of magazine subscribers from three times per year to every 60 days.

The HFM Enriched Database has 4.4 million active subscribers and includes these titles: American Photo, Boating, Car and Driver, Cycle World, Elle, Elle Decor, Flying, Home, Metropolitan Home, Popular Photography & Imaging, Premiere, Road & Track, Sound & Vision and Woman's Day.

The database is selectable by geography, recency, gender, age, income, presence of children by age/gender, telephone numbers, occupation, credit cardholder, business address, marital status and mail-order buyer as well as 73 lifestyle categories. Base price is $80/M.

Chain Store Guide Creates Database

Chain Store Guide, a division of Lebhar Friedman Inc., announced the availability of its new online searchable database for the retail and food-service industry.

The CSG database contains information on 200,000 retailers, food-service operators, distributors and wholesalers in the United States and Canada. It includes 300,000 key executives and buyers across 50 retail and food-service business channels.

The database can be used to generate mailing lists, form sales strategies and pinpoint contacts and locations, CSG said. Information is verified by phone, fax, mail and e-mail. Data are available in print, online and CD-ROM formats.

Pricing varies by need. CSG Online comes in Pro and Lite versions, priced respectively at $875 and $365 yearly. A CD-ROM version is $775, and a directory is $335. Also available are an Online Pro and directory package for $1,075 and a CD-ROM and directory package for $975.

The database can be accessed at www.csgis.com, where free demonstrations of the service are available.

Worldata Gains Newsletter Subscribers

Worldata, Boca Raton, FL, was appointed manager for five new lists from 101communications.

These high-tech files total 90,000 newsletter subscribers and include the titles ComplianceNOW, Redmond Report, SOATrends, DataTrends and MobileAppTrends. Availability of these five files will be staggered, with all launched by the end of April.

Worldata also manages the AppTrends, JavaTrends, ProgrammingTrends and Technology-Enabled Teaching files from 101communications.

Latin-Pak Introduces E-Mail Databases

Latin-Pak, St. Louis, announced the first-time availability of its proprietary opt-in e-mail databases. Latin-Pak markets to Hispanics, African-Americans and Asians through its insert media and direct mail programs.

The Latin-Pak Hispanic E-Mail Database offers 1.3 million Hispanics at opt-in e-mail address. The Latin-Pak Spanish-Speaking E-Mail Database offers 243,400 Spanish-speaking consumers at opt-in e-mail address.

The Black-Pak African-American E-Mail Database offers 1 million African-Americans at opt-in e-mail address.

The Asian-Pak E-Mail Database offers 565,200 Asians at opt-in e-mail address.

The base price for each database is $92.50/M. Selections include geography, gender, age, income, presence of children, mail-order buyer, donor, religion, book buyer, credit cardholder and telephone number.

The Landmark Small Business Locations file has 3.5 million small businesses and home offices. The base price is $100/M.

Selects on these lists include recency, gender, geography and many enhanced demographic and lifestyle segments such as title/job function, industry, company size, sales volume, age, income, ethnic/religious and children by age.

List Services suggests these lists for credit card, catalog, general merchandise, insurance, fundraising and sweepstakes offers.

Direct Media Wins Business Contacts File

Direct Media Inc., Greenwich, CT, was awarded list management of the Jigsaw file of online business-to-business contacts.

The file is generated at www.jigsaw.com, a community where people can buy, sell and trade business contact information. It has 298,500 members who are 65 percent male and 100 percent at business address. The member fee is $25 monthly.

Selections include job title, job function, industry, gender, employee size, maximum per company, geography and telephone number. Base price is $125/M. Direct Media suggests this list for BTB offers such as seminars, publications, computer hardware/software and services.

Statlistics Manages IEEE List

Statlistics, Danbury, CT, won list management of the IEEE Spectrum Master File of 118,000 members of this organization for technical professionals.
