LifeMinders Inc. yesterday formed an alliance with wireless communications company Nextel that will allow Nextel to send LifeMinders’ personalized messages to a portion of its customers.
Initially, LifeMinders has agreed to provide location-based severe weather alerts and forecasting. LifeMinders, Herndon, VA, provides targeted one-to-one personalized messages in 16 categories. No timetable was given for an expansion of content.
The Nextel agreement expands LifeMinders’ reach to 40 million consumers. The LifeMinders Wireless unit has similar arrangements with Metrocall and BlueLight.com.
