I read with great interest Robert McKim’s article on the demise of dot-com companies (“Dot-Coms Overlook the Essentials,” March 21). He is right on target.
I agree with McKim’s assessment of the investment community. As he states, “In the old days of financing, a company needed to have been around awhile … [with a history of] making profits before it could gain money.” How could this supposedly savvy investment community permit this irrational exuberance to be funded?
Let’s get back to making money and then going public on solid experience.
