Lear Signs MediaBin to Improve Production of Vehicle Images

MediaBin will manage the production of automotive supplier Lear Corp.’s offline and online vehicle images, hoping to speed up its time to market, under an agreement announced yesterday.

The terms were not disclosed.

MediaBin, Atlanta, aims to help the Southfield, MI, company manage the production of its vehicle images for use in printed brochures and on the company’s Web site for content, cross-media publishing and e-commerce initiatives, representatives for the marketing services provider said.

“MediaBin is providing a Web-based solution for cataloging images that will allow us to publish to the Web, reduce design redundancies and improve time to market while making our design department more efficient,” said Kip Kipila, director of Lear’s virtual technology division.

Burt Smith, vice president of marketing at MediaBin, said the software also allows companies to produce and manage images, change logos and store them in an image database at a quicker rate, enabling companies to distribute them more effectively in their marketing campaigns.

“Today, image management practices limit a company’s ability to respond quickly to changing customer and market demands,” Smith said. “This solution improves the infrastructure of image content management, whether in print, online or elsewhere.”
