Land Rover has combined its two annual catalogs — Land Rover Gear and Land Rover Vehicle Kit — into one book called the Land Rover Gear & Vehicle Kit 2001 catalog.
The 42-page book features clothing and vehicle accessories that cater to the lifestyle of the 4X4 owner.
Oliver Brearey, corporate communications specialist at Land Rover North America, Lanham, MD, said the gear catalog featured its clothing line while the vehicle kit catalog featured its accessories line.
“Consolidating the two makes things less confusing because you have one [book] with a few more items [rather] than having two separate catalogs,” Brearey said.
Land Rover will print a spring and summer catalog in March that will also combine elements of the previous two catalogs.
Land Rover provides the new combined catalog to those who request it via the company's Web site, www.landrover.com, or by calling a toll-free number. It is also available at 126 dealerships, but the catalog is not being mailed to prospects.
Brearey said the company views the catalog as a marketing tool designed to attract consumers who might be interested in buying a Land Rover vehicle.
“It's basically a way to keep the interest alive in the minds of consumers or owners who enjoy the various accessories and clothing with the Land Rover name,” Brearey said.
The catalog contains more than 200 items for adults and children and is broken into two sections: Gear and Vehicle Kit. The Gear section features clothing and accessories, including dress and casual pants, jackets, sweaters, hats, belts, luggage, wallets, mugs and books.
There is no order form, leaving consumers to make purchases online, by phone or at a Land Rover retailer. Items in the Gear section include a retractable dog lead priced at $27 for a medium and $39 for a large, a laptop bag priced between $269 and $410 and a signature oval ballpoint pen for $90.
The Vehicle Kit section does not list prices. Items can be bought at Land Rover dealerships, Brearey said. The section is also used as an advertisement vehicle for Land Rover automobiles. The 14-page section features photos of the vehicle's interior and its functions.
