La Redoute to Launch Organic Food Catalog

ROUBAIX, France – La Redoute, Europe’s third largest mail order house, plans to launch an organic food catalog, “Good Goods,” this fall.

It is not the first French cataloger to follow the biologically correct food trend in France, but its heavyweight status in the French catalog market gives the trend extra cachet.

Aux Plaisirs de Fleurance’s plant-based and gastronomic products all carry the French Ministry of Agriculture’s stellar AB label, assuring the highest origin quality.

Yves Ponroy also claims to sell only 100 percent organic foods, while Le Bon Panier sells farm products that are grown organically.

France is behind Germany and the US in the organic food race but sales have grown rapidly – up 26 percent annually over the last three years.

Most organic foods are sold at retail with mail order sales still tiny but French catalogers obviously see a bright future in adding these products to their mail order mix.
