La Poste Picks 2 for Mail Processing Center in France

Solystic S.A., a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman Corp., and Crisplant Inc., Frederick, MD, have been awarded a contract by La Poste Courrier International to implement an integrated international mail processing center adjacent to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Roissy, France, the two companies said.

The “Roissy Hub” will replace two existing facilities with a single automated center combining sorting and handling of letters, flats and parcels. It also will include an integrated information system and advanced security equipment. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

As prime contractor, Solystic will be responsible for program management, systems engineering, automation equipment fabrication and development of the information system. Crisplant will supply the material handling, parcel sorting and security equipment.

Paul Freedman, director of international business and technology integration for Solystic, said “the Roissy Hub program provides Northrop Grumman with an inroad into the international turnkey sortation and distribution center market.”

Crisplant, a member company of FKI Logistex, designs and manufactures advanced sorting systems. The company has installed more than 600 systems worldwide.
