Kurant, Paymentech Package E-Commerce Applications

Kurant Corp. and Paymentech have pooled e-business applications to create a service designed to get an e-commerce site up in 24 hours, the companies said yesterday.

Customizable templates are available for users without information technology expertise. Web designers can follow a list of detailed instructions.

Kurant's software, StoreSense, will let users put various online catalog features into play. These include a shopping cart, a search engine, real-time inventory display for products, cross-sell programs and mobile commerce capabilities.

Reports on shipping and credit card transactions will be available at a password-secured Web site. Merchants can search for transactions or batch files.

Paymentech's transaction system, meanwhile, completes the back end. The system can handle major credit, private-label and purchasing cards. Setup time is approximately 10 minutes.

Paymentech, Dallas, also will handle financial services for payments.

“I think the historical process of getting up on the Web in a hosted environment has been very complicated,” said Chuck Harris, e-business executive at Paymentech. “We've worked to make it less convoluted. You can click through the design process and access a merchant's account all in the matter of a day.”

The services are available at www.paymentech.com, www.kurant.com and numerous business portals that are partners of Kurant.
