Internet same-day delivery company Kozmo.com said yesterday that it will lay off 120 people and close its operations in Houston and San Diego, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal.
The New York-based company that delivers snacks, books, videos and music said in a statement on its Web site that “demand didn’t match staffing and inventory requirements to maintain service” in Houston and San Diego.
The layoffs represent 6 percent of the company’s work force. Kozmo has trimmed its staff by about 350 people over the past year.
