Kony Names Shirk CMO

Kony, a mobile application development platform (MAPD), today named David J. Shirk as its EVP and CMO. The company heralded the move as a crucial step toward its mission of building a world-class enterprise software executive team.

Shirk brings to Kony more than 25 years of technology marketing experience. He was most recently VP and GM of CSC, and previously served as SVP of worldwide marketing for HP Enterprise Business. Shirk has also held marketing posts at Siemens, Oracle, and UGS, where he was CMO. At Kony he will oversee all aspects of global marketing.

“Mobile technologies are fundamentally transforming the way that organizations around the world do business,” Shirk said in a statement. “This is an incredibly powerful and exciting story to tell.”

Along with SAP, IBM, and Adobe, Kony was identified as one of 2013’s MAPD leaders by Gartner, which lauded the KonyOne platform for its multichannel capabilities and its ability to deliver complex enterprise apps.
