KnowledgeBase, Recognition Systems Form Alliance

TORONTO – Integrated marketing solutions provider KnowledgeBase, Houston, announced here this week that it has formed a strategic alliance with Recognition Systems, Chicago, a campaign management software and solutions vendor.

The focus of the alliance will be to get KnowledgeBase’s customers to use Recognition’s new solution called Protagona. The solution helps companies communicate personalized marketing messages to customers through different forms of transactions, including e-mail, the Web and direct mail.

According to Richard Muller, vice president and general manager at KnowledgeBase, the reason for the alliance was threefold.

“The product issues of the arrangement that we like are the fact that their tool can be interfaced directly with a relational database,” Muller said. “It will also allow us to maximize the work with our clients while using other tools, and the products interface and approach to managing campaigns is intuitive for marketers.”

As for the business side of the agreement, Muller said Recognition Systems has been the most responsive and receptive to KnowledgeBase’s interest in wanting to move into the role of a service provider where its clients can take advantage of a campaign management tool remotely. “They can utilize it without having to take the system on site,” Muller said.

Protagona includes a number of fully integrated features such as planning, work flow management, campaign design and execution, behavioral and propensity modeling, results reporting and campaign operations.
