KnowledgeBase Marketing creates SVP of marketing role

Database marketing giant KnowledgeBase Marketing hired Barbara Palmer as SVP of marketing, effective September 13. It is a new position for the agency, which is the data services arm of the Wunderman marketing agency network.

Palmer said her position was created as KnowledgeBase Marketing is “now expanding globally and in [different] markets and industries. [The company] wanted a more strategic approach.”

“Creating this executive marketing position is a logical next step following our expansion into Europe in May of this year and Barbara’s expertise will be an invaluable asset to our growing organization,” said Gary Laben, CEO of KnowledgeBase Marketing, in a statement.

The firm offers database marketing, analytics and list processing among other services.

Her position straddles marketing and corporate communications. Responsibilities include providing management to areas such as corporate marketing, partner and channel marketing as well as product marketing and product management.

Prior to joining KnowledgeBase, she headed her own company, Palmer Communications, working with such brands as Colgate-Palmolive, AEG-Daimler and Compaq Computer. Her resume also includes stints at PR giants Cohn & Wolfe and Burson-Marsteller.

Palmer is based in New York.
